Produktinformation:

For schools, the Groves can be used by teachers and students (music, art, drama, textiles, ICT) who need to know:

- for Grove Music Online, about composers, performers, styles, works, traditions and instruments. However, school children can use it not only for their music homework but also for their drama classes or school plays. And using the databse also helps with ICT teaching - how to make the most of a large database, how to refine searches and how to present and interpret the results of searching. On the site there are valuable links to related articles within the site but also on other websites so it is a trustworthy guide to navigation on the web when the students are working on music themes.

- for Grove Art Online, this is an online visual arts resource centre. There are 45,000 image links and approximately 8,000 images. The database covers everything they need to know about artists, architecture, sculptors, genres, cultures, techniques and museums. Under related content, the teacher and student will find links to other articles that are relevant so they make a comprehensive search of the subject and there are opportunities for a lot of cross-references. When planning an art trip or a day out at the museum, the students and teachers can see which works are kept in which museum all over the world. With the help of the Timelines they can see an overview of significant moments in art history from all over the globe. The Museum of Modern Art provides lesson plans. http://www.oxfordartonline.com/subscriber/page/resources

These learning units are designed to make art accessible and exciting to younger audiences. Each learning unit includes lesson objectives, discussion topics, activities and projects, images and suggested readings in Grove Art Online that relate to the lesson plans. If one wants to learn about art movements they can refer to the Thematic guides. These as well as the Timelines, and the Lesson Plans are under Learning Resources in Grove Art Online.

The Groves can be used in lesson planning, essay writing, project work and research.
